Below is a time line of the phasing out of the production of incandescent light bulbs in the United States.

January 1, 2012 100 watt incandescent light bulb will not be produced anymore.
January 1, 2013 75-watt incandescent light bulbs will not be produced anymore.
January 1, 2014 40-watt and 60-watt incandescent light bulbs will not be produced anymore.

By replacing 15 incandescent light bulbs with newer LED, Halogen, of CFL light bulbs, you could save up to $50 per year.
